The time has finally come - Wizard World Comic Con is returning to the Sacramento Convention Center this upcoming weekend! Our family is so excited for this convention, we've been eagerly awaiting the show's return after we regrettably missed last year's event. I've never been to a comic con event, but I can tell by reading the show reviews and looking at countless slide-shows that it's going to be love at first sight! Wizard World Comic Con events bring together thousands of fans of all ages to celebrate the best in pop-fi, pop culture, movies, graphic novels, cosplay, comics, television, sci-fi, toys, video gaming, gaming, original art, collectibles, contests and more!!
Wizard World has an amazing line-up of talent from popular movies + tv shows scheduled to be in attendance at this year's convention. The headliners for this show are Norman Reedus (“The Walking Dead”, The Boondock Saints), Danny Trejo (Machete, From Dusk Till Dawn), Katie Cassidy (“Arrow”), Henry Winkler (“Happy Days,” “Royal Pains”), Kelly Frye (“The Flash”), WWE® Diva Eva Marie™, Patrick Warburton (“Family Guy,” “Seinfeld”), and Christian Serratos (“The Walking Dead”). Check out the full list of top celebrities on Wizard World's site!
In addition to the incredible talent that we know {and love} from seeing on-screen, Wizard World is also the home of the most creative artists and writers on the planet. Wizard World's Artist Alley is packed with artists of all types - from comic artists and creators to musicians, filmmakers and fx make-up artists. At past shows there have been t-shirt printers, face painters, toy sculptors and more - a bunch of art in one place for your browsing pleasure. Plus, you may be able to get a sketch from your fav artist for a nominal fee, you can find out more information about Artist Alley on Wizard World's FAQ page.
Artist Alley at Comic Con Sacramento will feature Neal Adams (“Batman,” “X-Men,”), Paolo Rivera (“All-New X-Men,” “Captain America”), Humberto Ramos (“Amazing Spider-Man,” “The Spectacular Spider-Man”), Mel Rubi (“Red Sonja,” “Doctor Strange”), Phil Ortiz (“The Simpsons,” “Muppet Babies”), Peter Bagge (“Hate,” “Mad”), Arthur Suydam (“Marvel Zombies,” “Army of Darkness”), Ethan Van Sciver (“Justice League,” “Batman”) and many others.
And make sure to bring your spending cash, because there will be retailer's booth stocked up with memorabilia from comics, tv shows and movies. So many items that you've never seen, some booths even creating custom pieces of art on-site. I can't wait to see what I can't live without! :)
And last but certainly not least - the cosplay {the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game}!! I loved looking through the slide-show of costumes from the 2014 show, so much creativity and ingenuity. For me, the convention is worth going to just to see what costumes will be worn! There will be the Wizard World Costume Contest on Saturday night and a Kid's Costume Contest on Sunday - I CAN NOT wait to see the winners.
