It's summertime and the season for packing up the van, filling up the gas tank and hitting the road! No matter where my family is traveling, we always make a point to stop at local food stops along the route of our trip. Whether it be a produce stand, a food truck or a food cart - we will pull over for a taste, even if it means driving hundreds of miles out of the way. {true story...} Living in California gives us many options in the way of food, so we take advantage of all the state has to offer and make a lot of stops along our home-state road trips. A lot. From authentic Mexican cuisine, seafood and wines to famous fast-food restaurants, fusion cuisine and an abundance of fresh produce - California has a lot of foodie options while on a road trip. I've always wondered what foods were specific to other states in the USA, so I did a little research and put together this basic list of 50 U.S.A. Regional Foods to Enjoy on Your Next Road Trip. It was so much to find out about all the foods offered across the nation that I am totally inspired to start traveling and checking items off this list ASAP!

To make sure we are ready for our food-filled summer road trips we give our vehicle a little TLC with an oil change at the Walmart Automotive Care Center. We drive a late-model vehicle with high-mileage, making it especially important that we stay current on it's maintenance. My go-to spot for oil changes during this fun time of year is Walmart, so I can hit two birds with one stone - get the family van's oil changed and stock-up on road-trip necessities. Plus, I like that Walmart uses Pennzoil oil; it not only provides better protection from friction than leading brands but it also helps to clean out sludge that lesser oils may leave behind. Pennzoil's High Mileage Motor Oil is specially formulated to reduce leaks and oil consumption in worn or high mileage {over 75,000 miles} engines, which our van certainly is. The mechanics are always so personable at the Walmart Automotive Care Center - very courteous and helpful with any questions I may have. The whole experience is quick, pleasant and keeps my van running clean and going strong for a long time beyond road trip season!

From June 10th - September 9th, Pennzoil oil changes will be on Rollback at Walmart ACC {Automotive Care Center} stores.
  • High Mileage $35.88, compared to the regular Walmart price of $39.88. {Industry standard price is $46}
  • Platinum Full Synthetic $45.88, compared to the regular Walmart price of $49.88. {Industry standard price $66}
