Even before having kids I thought that Halloween was one of the most fun holidays - but it has gotten a ton more fun having the little ones around. They are totally in the spirit of this spooky and scary holiday and are bringing so much excitement to our house in anticipation for the big day this upcoming Saturday! The kiddos have been decorating, playing monsters, creating haunting art projects and begging to watch scary movies - this Halloween has taken us by storm and it's been a blast. One of my favorite things we've been doing as a family this ghostly time of year has been whipping up creepy creations in our Spooky Snack Lab {kitchen}! While we have been doing some wicked baking, we've been in need of something to wash down these goulish snacks with. I was inspired to make these Cookies and Orange Cream Milkshakes after hearing that Evette Rios {from the show Recipe Rehab} was creating custom recipes using both Fanta and OREO {exclusively for Walmart}. Not only are these milkshakes perfectly color-themed for this frightening holiday but they're unbelievably delicious for your taste-buds!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, holiday-themed packaging makes me completely giddy - so I was just beside myself when I saw what Fanta and OREO did this year for Halloween! OREO has a Spooky Edition 30-pack of 2-pack cookies that have glow-in-the-dark packaging, complete with a spider web. Fanta cans are printed with a partying group of classic monsters, accented with spiders and bats. SO much fun and perfect for Halloween! Although I will be making most of our food on Halloween night, it will be fun to have some Halloween-themed pre-packaged goodies to put out for guests to enjoy as well.
My opinion may be a little biased when it comes to these Cookies and Orange Cream Milkshakes since OREO are my favorite cookie and Fanta is one of my top choices for sodas - but I am in love! Fanta mixed with vanilla ice cream creates such a rich and flavorful orange creamsicle flavor, then mixing in crushed OREO bits adds the perfect cookie flavor. Imagine Cookies and Cream Ice Cream with orange ice cream, then it's turned into a milkshakes. This is that milkshake. And it's awesome. I made a couple batches of these Cookies and Orange Cream Milkshakes and split them up between my kiddos to enjoy during story-time. We borrowed some Halloween-themed books from our local library and sat around in a circle to enjoy our tastiest story-time yet!

For these fabulously frightening packaged Fanta and OREO stop by your local Walmart. I found the Fanta in the soda aisle and the OREO cookies on a display near the Halloween supplies. Make sure to stop by the Walmart Spooky Snack Lab to check out spooky recipes for this Halloween holiday, including exclusive recipes by Evette Rios!
